Awkwafina is an American singer and actress began with humorous raps that addressed the racial and sexual identities of people. In the years before she stepped to Hollywood she came out with an album of rap songs. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was from the trumpet. Later, she began hip-hop and classical training. In college, she studied the field of women's studies and journalism. In addition, she spent some time learning Mandarin at the University of Beijing. After graduating, she began to concentrate on music. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet and was later released on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014.
