The Despacito song was at its peak popularity, however 19 predominantly Spanish songs made it into the Top 100, and in 2020 there were 41 songs. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. Then, various artistes collaborated with Reggaeton's biggest stars including Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma and Medellin 2019. As early as 2020, some reggaeton musicians were unhappy with the way the genre was shifting towards the more mainstream.
